Getting and staying fit doesn’t have to be hard. In fact, it can be fun.
The weather is finally nice and warm. That means it’s time to get out there and do some fun activities. A lot of these will help you burn calories without even realizing it.
I recently found an article on Huffington Post that details 50 fun summer activities that burn 50 (or more) calories. You can read the full list here, but I picked out 10 of my favorites to share with you now. Here are a few ways you can have fun and get fit this summer:
1. Have a dance party. Just 11 minutes of dancing will burn 46 calories.
2. Fire up the grill. In 19 minutes of grilling, you can burn 50 calories.
3. Mowing the lawn. In only eight minutes of moving, you will burn 52 calories.
4. Play golf. 10 minutes on the course will result in burning 54 calories. Imagine what a full round could do for you!
5. Tread water. Don’t be afraid to go into the deep end at the pool, as treading water for 12 minutes will burn 54 calories.

6. Take the stairs. Instead of using the elevator, try the stairs instead. Climbing for five minutes will burn 54 calories.
7. Go shopping. Instead of perusing on Amazon, head to your local mall and peruse the aisles and you’ll burn 50 calories in just 20 minutes.
8. Mop the floor. Some cleaning will make your house sparkle and help you burn 50 calories in just 12 minutes.
9. Go fishing. This will help you burn 51 calories in just 15 minutes.
10. Go fetch. Playing fetch with your pet for just 15 minutes can burn 50 calories.
